Last Friday Dr. Long Huynh took his staff to the first of a 9-month series on dental implants. This series will include hands-on case study discussions for the doctors.
Every seminar I go to, no matter what the subject matter, I take home an important tidbit. This seminar was no different. What I took home from this implant seminar is to remember to use the whole team to get the best end result for each client. That doesn’t mean just the dental team in our office, but also any dental specialists and/or the client’s medical doctor(s), if needed.
We were also reminded that the best end result comes from proper planning. The best planning comes from imagining the perfect end result, and then planning the steps out backwards. It is certainly easier to only plan for the issue a client presents with, but by complete planning we can give each client their best, and happiest, smile ever!

On June 4th, 2010 Dr. Huynh-Le began her 25 month-long commitment with the University of Florida (UF) Comprehensive Dentistry Program (CDP).
She joined 21 other general dentists in Gainesville, for this international initiative. The participants in this program will meet one weekend per month.
The UF CDP prepares dentists for the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship and Mastership awards, which qualifies the participant to seek Diplomat status with the America Board of General Dentists. This unique continuing education opportunity allows participants to interact with top instructors who specialize in various fields, and to develop camaraderie with other practitioners.
Dr. Huynh-Le endeavors to improve her clinical and interpersonal skills and abilities through continuing education opportunities such as this, which helps her to be a better dentist.

American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Conference, Grapevine, TX
Naples, Florida - Dr. Long Huynh of naplescosmeticdentistry.com just returned from the 26th Annual Scientific Session of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) in Grapevine, Texas from April 26 to May 1. This year's theme, 'What's the Big Idea?', is designed to bring together thousands of dental professionals to showcase and learn about the latest advances and new trends in cosmetic dentistry.
A 3rd-year sustaining member of AACD, Dr. Long was returning again this year. He says one of the best parts about the event is the level of professionalism he encounters each year. "It's great to know that when you come to this meeting, you are learning from, and talking with, the best of the best. These are some of the most innovative and respected cosmetic dentists in the world."
"All of the presentations I attended at the Scientific Sessions were excellent. Spring Rolls Were a Huge Hit At Our Open House!
Authentic Vietnamese Spring Roll Recipe
This is the recipe for the Spring Rolls that were featured at our recent open house - so many of you have asked for the recipe, we're posting it here.
Ingredient:
Spring Roll Wrapper – After all desired filling ingredients are prepared, and family is ready to eat, dip one wrapper at a time into a large bowl of warm water then place on a diner plate. (Do not stack the dipped wrappers onto one plate. They will stick together. Instead, place one only on each individual family member’s diner plate.)
Dipping the wrapper in water will make the wrapper pliable enabling it to be rolled up after filling. Once the wrapper is placed on a diner plate do not attempt to remove wrapper from plate.
To fill: Starting in a corner of the wrapper first place lettuce and then other items.
To roll: Carefully pick up corner below lettuce and pull up and over filling items. Begin rolling tightly. Once wrapper is tightly rolled to the mid-point then fold in side corners. Continue rolling to the end. Dip end into desired sauce and enjoy!
Rice noodles or rice Рprepare according to package directions, and then can saut̩ with garlic in olive oil.
Optional, but recommended fillings:
- Bean sprouts, rinsed and dried
- Lettuce, washed and dried
- Peanuts, chopped
- Mint (fresh), rinsed and dried
Suggested Main Veggie Dish:
Tofu Рsaut̩ in olive oil. Add thinly sliced julienne styled Carrot, and any other thinly sliced julienne styled vegetables that you desired. Garnish with fresh Parsley and Cilantro.
Prepare Shrimp, chicken, or whatever cooked meat or seafood you wish to add.
Sauces Ideas:
- Hoisin Sauce
- Hot Sauce/Asian Chili Sauce
- Soy Sauce

First Annual Open House
Thursday, March 25th, 2010 marked the first open house at Park Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.
After much anticipation and preparation, our team welcomed invited patients, guests, other specialists and their staff to a pleasant evening of food and wine.
The menu included shrimp cocktails, a variety of meat and cheese platters, pinwheel wraps, vegetable platters with dips and a taste of Vietnamese cuisine: fried bananas, egg rolls, spring rolls accompanied by different exotic sauces. The desserts were sensational, with an oversized cake complemented by fruits and other sweet treats.
With a turnout of approximately 100 people, we considered this event to be a great success - it provided our team with the opportunity to get to know our clients and their guests better. This inaugural open house received so much positive feedback from the visitors, that we plan to make this an annual event for the years to come.

The February West Coast District Dental Association Event
In February, our team headed to St. Petersburg, Florida for a continuing education event sponsored by the West Coast District Dental Association.
Dr. Huynh-Le and Dr. Long spent their day learning about the latest developments in cosmetic dentistry from world renowned Dr. Gerard Chiche, the authority in Esthetic Dentistry.
The rest of the staff took various seminars related to their respective areas of expertise.
One of our next excursions will be this Fall, when we venture to Orlando for the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry event.
